About Me
My name is McKay Lenker. I grew up in Blythewod, South Carolina. In High School I discovered my love for art. I enjoyed creating art more than anything else. I felt most comfortable in my art classes, and I looked up to every single one of my art teachers. I loved the atmosphere in my art classes and I realized that being an art teacher would be a perfect job for me. I currently study art education at Brigham Young University. I spent 18 months serving as a full time volunteer missionary for the LDS church. There, I found my love for teaching, and my love for connecting with people who feel lost or misunderstood. I believe that making art helps us to experience the world around us. It can heal people. I am so excited for this opportunity to work as an Arts Specialist for the Arts Bridge Program. I have already learned so much and cannot wait to do more.
